9th International CREATIV-GRAZ Judo Tournament, Graz, Austria

With 1,337 entries from 129 judo clubs in 17 countries, this is one of the largest, if not the very largest, competition in Europe for children. It was held in a beautiful centre near Frohnleiten in the mountains near Graz. Moberly Judo Club had one entry, John Jayne. On Sunday he first won the U 11 age band at -33 kg. There were 28 boys in his category. Immediately after winning the final, he began the U 13 age band, also at -33 kg. In this category there were 24 boys. He won this age band as well, having a total of 10 fights for the day. This was enough to place the Moberly Judo Club at number 21 in the medal table out of the 129 clubs. England was 11th out of the 17 countries.

The countries represented were Austria, Belgium, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxemburg, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland.
